Who we are
TRUE Driver Profit is operated by Thomas Staggs (the "seller", "we", "us"), trading as TRUE Driver Profit. This page explains how we handle personal information about visitors, beta signups, and paying customers.
For the personal information described in this notice, Thomas Staggs is the data controller. You can contact us at support@truedriverprofit.com.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:
- Account information: name, email, phone number, city
- Vehicle and work details: vehicle type, delivery platforms, hours worked
- Usage data you enter: deliveries, expenses, goals
- Support messages you send us
- Technical data: browser user agent, IP address, device identifiers
- Payment-related data (name, billing address, tax ID) collected by Paddle on our behalf — see "Payments" below
How we use your information
- To create and operate your account
- To provide the earnings, expense, and reporting features of the app
- To send transactional emails (sign-in, receipts, subscription changes)
- To send product updates and, where permitted, marketing about TRUE Driver Profit
- For security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection
- To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests)
- To improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying analytics
Legal basis for processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the service you signed up for and to process your purchases.
- Legitimate interests — to secure the service, prevent fraud, improve the product, and communicate about features you already use.
- Consent — for optional marketing emails and any non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — to keep transaction records for tax and accounting.
Payments (Paddle as Merchant of Record)
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles the checkout, payment processing, sales tax and VAT, invoicing, subscription billing, and refunds, and provides customer service inquiries related to purchases and returns.
When you purchase a subscription, Paddle collects and processes your payment information (such as name, billing address, and card details) under its own privacy notice. See Paddle's Privacy Policy and Buyer Terms. We receive limited information back from Paddle (such as your email, subscription status, plan, and country) so we can activate your account and provide receipts.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the following categories of recipients, and only as needed:
- Merchant of Record — Paddle, for checkout, payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — the cloud database and serverless hosting that runs the app and stores your account data.
- Email delivery providers — to send transactional and product emails.
- Professional advisers — accountants and legal advisers, where needed.
- Authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and users.
International transfers
Our providers may process personal data in the United States and other countries outside the UK and EEA. Where transfers occur, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
How long we keep it
We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, unless we're required to keep it for legal, tax, or accounting reasons (typically up to 7 years for transaction records).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data; to data portability; and to withdraw consent. UK/EEA residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@truedriverprofit.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond quickly to issues.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we'll update this notice and, where required, ask for consent.
Children
The service is intended for delivery drivers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
As the product evolves, we may update this policy. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated by email.
