Profit Per Mile
What the number means and how to improve it.

Profit per mile tells you what each mile of driving leaves in your pocket after the vehicle cost of driving it.
How it is calculated
Profit per mile is your TRUE Profit divided by the miles you drove. TRUE Profit is your earnings minus your True Vehicle Cost and any expenses that apply to the period.
True Vehicle Cost has two parts: fuel, from your MPG and gas price, and vehicle wear, from your Vehicle Cost per Mile setting.
Why it matters
- It is the cleanest way to compare two offers of different sizes.
- It exposes long, low-paying runs that look acceptable as a dollar figure.
- It puts unpaid miles into the same measure as paid ones.
How to use it
- Set your minimum per mile goal in Profile under Earnings goals.
- Watch the verdict color on Home when you enter an offer.
- Review your actual profit per mile weekly in Reports.
- If actual results run below your goal, tighten which offers you accept.
An offer's advertised miles rarely include your drive to the pickup. Add those miles before judging the rate.
