Adding Expenses
The basics of logging any expense.

Expenses are half of your profit picture. Anything you spend to keep driving belongs here. Most entries lower your TRUE Profit. Gas, oil changes, maintenance and tires are the exception: those are already covered by your MPG, gas price and Vehicle Cost per Mile settings, so they are kept as records instead of being subtracted a second time.
How to add an expense
- Open the Expenses tab.
- Tap the category that fits: gas, oil change, maintenance, tires, car wash, insurance, phone, tolls, parking, registration, or other.
- Enter the amount. For gas, enter gallons and price per gallon and the total fills in for you.
- Add a note if you want to remember the detail later.
- Save the expense.
One-time vs monthly fixed costs
- Logged expenses are one-time costs on the day they happened.
- Monthly fixed costs are amounts that repeat, such as insurance or your phone plan. The app spreads them across the period so they show up fairly.
Reading the top of the Expenses tab
You will see Logged expenses, Monthly fixed costs, and Impact on profit (this month), plus the percentage of this month's earnings your expenses have consumed.
Log expenses as they happen. A receipt in your pocket is a cost your profit numbers do not know about yet.
